We offer an all-inclusive week-long walking holiday package based at our award-winning hotel, Pri Lenart. Available dates run from Saturday to Saturday, with pick-up and drop-off at Ljubljana airport, or city centre, included in the price of your holiday, for more information take a look at what's included in your holiday package.
During your stay, we offer a range of guided walks in the beautiful countryside surrounding our hotel, as well as some further afield. You can choose to join us for guided walks, or take a route card and explore the surrounding area independently. Our guided walks usually last around 6-7 hours including stops for refreshments, picnic lunch, etc. Take a look at our walking routes for more information.
There is a free day during the week, Wednesday, when we don't offer a guided walk, but instead, provide time for other activities. Transport to the pretty Medieval town of Skofja Loka is included in the price of your holiday and you can spend a relaxing day visiting the town and its excellent ethnographical museum. From Skofja Loka you could also choose to catch one of the regular buses which run to Ljubljana, where you can explore Slovenia's tiny capital.
Alternative day trips are available by booking a taxi (at an extra cost) and there are many destinations to visit such as the lace and mercury museums in Idrija, Postonja Caves or the coast to name just a few. On a Wednesday evening, the hotel kitchen is closed and instead, we will drive you to a local organic farm to enjoy a truly authentic experience of a traditional Slovenian dinner made from all home-produced ingredients - this is included in the holiday price.
In addition to walking and exploring the local area, we can help to arrange many other guided activities from fishing experiences to e-mountain bike tours.
Fitness Levels for Walking Terrain
To enjoy the accompanied walks we recommend that you are comfortable walking in hilly areas at a steady pace for around 6-7 hours each day (including rest stops). Walks generally include up to 800 metres ascent which involves walking steadily uphill, sometimes for several hours - but the rewards are great in terms of views, and there is usually a mountain hut for rest and refreshments at the top of the longer ascents!
Generally, one ascent will take you to a flattish area where the views are spectacular, and from there the rest of the walk is quite level and then finishes with a descent. If you don't regularly do day walks in hilly terrain, please ensure you are fit enough to enjoy the walking programme by doing some aerobic exercise and hill walking prior to your holiday!
Please note we do not accept children under the age of 14 years, due to the nature of the hotel and the unsuitability of the walking for children. Please advise us before booking if you are over the age of 70 or if you have any health issues so we can discuss the suitability of the holiday for you.
