Pri Lenart - an environmentally friendly hotel

At Pri Lenart, we care about the environment and aim to provide low impact, green tourism which is beneficial to the local community.

The Hotel

With the aim of being an environmentally friendly hotel, we have renovated the house with high levels of insulation to avoid heat loss by using natural materials from sustainable sources wherever possible. We only use untreated natural spring water throughout the hotel and ask our guests to conserve their water and electricity use. As well as this, we line-dry all unchanged towels and provide only a mid-week, rather than daily change, of towels and bed linen - this helps us reduce our energy use, water consumption and pollution.

Local Produce

We try our best to source local produce and seasonal ingredients - growing many of our vegetables in our own organic plot. We buy our bread from local farmers and make our own tasty preserves. In guest rooms, we provide only Fairtrade tea and coffee. We make every effort to compost any waste generated in the hotel kitchen or guest rooms but try our very best to avoid food waste by asking guests to select their menu choices beforehand.

Walk Slovenia

The majority of hotel guests choose to be picked up by our minibus on arrival day and most days, we will walk directly from the hotel to our walking routes. For routes that can’t be easily reached on foot (no more than two times a week), we travel together using the one minibus to keep our fuel emissions to a minimum.

With walking being the main activity for most days, we have a relatively low impact on the local environment. We always keep to marked trails and ensure no sign is left of us passing through. On most walking routes, we visit local farms, mountain huts and artisans, where guests often sample and buy local products, helping the local economy.

These things all help us provide eco-friendly tourism in Slovenia.

Our Reviews

"We came with high expectations, but Luca & Jana took things to another level. Their care & attention to all their guests was first class, Jana’s meals were exceptional & Luca was such fun & entertained us all, both on our wonderful treks & during meals. Slovenia is a great country with stunning scenery- I can honestly say that this was one of our most memorable holidays & we will definitely be back- we cannot recommend both Slovenia & Luca’s & Jana’s hospitality high enough."

"I can honestly say I do not have a negative comment about Zana, Luka, Pri Lenart Hotel, all the staff, Slovenia or the walking adventures. From the friendliest welcome from Luka at the airport to saying a sad goodbye a week later to Zana and Luka we had the best time. Slovenia is an incredible country with the most amazing views, countryside, people and things to do. Pri Lenart Hotel was absolutely spotless, a first class retreat in the mountains, and the best hosts in Zana and Luka. The most delicious food from morning, to lunch, to afternoon tea to incredible dinner, everything explained and from different parts of the world. Zana also bent over backwards to accommodate different dietary requirements. The after dinner chats over a schnapps was one of my many favourite moments. Hot tub outside was marvellous after a days walking. My walking fitness was not quite up to par but Luka was so thoughtful in adapting walks for me and making me part of the group/ team. I could go on and on but must finish with a huge thank you to Zana, Luka and all the team for a magnificent holiday. Could not recommend Pri Lenart enough."

"Our second visit to Pri Lenart and better than ever. We combined the hiking with 3 days of e-mountain biking and it was superb. The hospitality, food and accommodation cannot be bettered unless it is by the superb scenery that is all around you. The deal is completely all inclusive and I cannot recommend it highly enough."
