Triglav is the highest Slovenian mountain and the highest peak of the Julian Alps at an altitude of 2864m above sea level. In collaboration with certified mountain guide Igor Kremser we offer fit guests a possibility to climb the mountain.
The ascent will start from the valley Kot, since this route is not as crowded as other possible routes; first the path leads us to the hut Dom Valentina Stani?a, from there we continue to the highest hut in Slovenia – Triglavski dom na Kredarici. From there the ascent gets a little bit more technically demanding, but escorted by the mountain guide is still very safe. From the top we can even see the Slovenian coastline if the weather is clear! The entire ascent, with the moderate pace of walking and included all the rest stops, lasts from 10 to 12 hours.
Ascent is not included in the holiday package price, cost for a mountain guide is 200 EUR per person.
Igor has been discovering mountains from an early age and started climbing at the age of 15. After a short time it has become a way of life for him; during his many years as a climber he has been on four mountain expeditions.
His first mountain expedition was to Peru, where he reached an altitude over 6000m for the first time! Peru was followed by an expedition in Nepal, where he climbed in the Himalayan mountains. He has also taken part in an expedition on China’s mountain Xulian Feng (6249m); for this, he has been nominated for the prestige award Piolet d’Or; the Piolet d'Or (French for The Golden Ice Axe) is an annual mountaineering award given by the French magazine Montagnes and The Groupe de Haute Montagne since 1991.
In 2016 he successfully finished training to become a mountain guide. His mission as a mountain guide is to provide guests the safest way to discover mountains, so that they can explore the vertical world in a different way.
