The new walking holiday season approaches!
We are getting ready for our walking holiday season here in Slovenia with first guests arriving in under 3 weeks. Neza (our local Slovenian guide who speaks excellent English and is extremely popular with our guests will be leading all the walks this year as I am sadly unable to hill walk at the moment - the ankle I sprained badly last autumn (the bone was also fractured and tendons damaged) just hasn't healed properly and seems to have turned into chronic tendonitis. I'm ok on my feet for about 45 minutes then get searing pain. I was hoping things would sort themselves out over the winter but at the moment there's no way I can do even an hour's walk, much less a day's. Fingers crossed it gets better for later in the season, but if not the guests will be in very safe and friendly hands with Neza!
Keith is back cooking in the kitchen once again and we have been busy developing new menus which we hope all our guests will enjoy as much as they have in previous years; Fluffy the dog is still tottering on in extreme old age but he has retired from co-leading the walks!
Spring has arrived with the blossom already on the fruit trees about 3 weeks ahead of normal and generally balmy temperatures - all boding well for the orchids and other flowers arriving for our first guests.
We're looking forward to seeing many returning guests soon and meeting new ones!
